Holy is the Lord, my God, my Creator. I worship and adore You, Lord, and cry out to You. I confess my fear in my circumstance. I confess I want to control things but realize I have very little control. My need for You is critical today. Please comfort me and assure me that You know all things, that I am deeply loved, and that I belong to You. Thank You, Father, that You want to comfort me and change how I look at things. A heavenly perspective does just that; Your peace envelops me, and I am safe in You.
You remind me this world is not my true home; I am a pilgrim journeying through this life. As believers in Your Son, Jesus, we are all on a path toward eternity in Your beautiful presence. While journeying here, I want to follow Jesus and do Your will. I desire to love like He loved, to be used by You and to be generous, kind and forgiving. I desire to progressively know and love You more. I realize it is only by Your Spirit these things are possible, so please stretch my heart, Lord, and may the Holy Spirit govern my life.
I worship You, Father God. You are Spirit and Light, completely self-sufficient in all ways. Lord, You do not NEED anything. Not air. Not water. Not food. Not sleep. Not even my praise, but You want it, and I freely give it. I have determined to give You praise no matter what happens in this life. Praise brings me into fellowship with You, the sovereign holy God over all. For from You and through You and back to You are all things. (Romans 12:36) Amazing that You do not even have need of gaining knowledge or understanding because all wisdom comes from You! From Your mouth comes knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6)
I choose to bring glory to Your great Name. It’s not about me, I am not my own; I was bought with a great price. (1 Corinthians 6:20) Actually, I have already died to my own life; my life is truly hid with Christ in You. (Colossians 3:3) My body may be weak but my spirit will be strong because my strength comes from You. Your grace really is sufficient for me. Your power is accomplished in my weakness. May the anointing of Your Spirit rest on me and enable me to face these challenges and fears. (2Corinthians 12:9,10)
Psalm 121 reminds me, Lord, You are my help and my strength, my assurance and protector. Thank You that I can draw my strength from You, the Lord of all creation. I confess my great need, Lord, and I thank You for assuring me that invisible, angelic armies who are with us are greater than those of the enemy. (2 Kings 6:17) You are faithful and You promise to protect me. You will guard my coming and going both here on earth and forever. You usher me personally through my life and into heaven when that day comes. You protect me from evil. I love You, Lord; I’m so glad I belong to You. In Jesus’ holy Name and to His glory I pray, Amen.
Psalm 121 The Message (MSG)
A Pilgrim Song
121 1-2 I look up to the mountains;
does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.
3-4 He won’t let you stumble,
your Guardian God won’t fall asleep.
Not on your life! Israel’s
Guardian will never doze or sleep.
5-6 God’s your Guardian,
right at your side to protect you—
Shielding you from sunstroke,
sheltering you from moonstroke.
7-8 God guards you from every evil,
he guards your very life.
He guards you when you leave and when you return,
he guards you now, he guards you always.
