I have many friends that are fathers on this Father’s Day. Here are just a few:
My son, who is definitely a friend, is a brand new father, and will exceed all that I ever was, or could hope to be as a father.
My son-in-law, who is a friend, has exceeded all my expectations by growing two sons who, by his example, are young men after God’s own heart. He pours into them daily what is right and good in God’s sight.
A Father who is a friend … has a son that plays on the TCU baseball team. He’s proud, instructive, and such an encourager, always staying positive in tough circumstances.
A Father who is a friend … lost a daughter many years ago, but is a huge encourager in my life because of that loss. He understands adversity, loss, pain, and is a strong believer.
A Father who is a friend … is an advocate in the court room for many children in need.
A Father who is a friend … just had a new grandson named after him.
A Father who is a friend … poured into my daughter-in-law great character traits of compassion and love for others in need.
A Father who is a friend … wrote me a letter every day while in college, and to this day talks to me every day on the phone.
A Father who is a friend … shares the same disease as I, but with much more style and grace.
A Father who is a friend … can juggle three kids, a wife, and a large family business, and still come up smiling.
A Father who is a friend … quickly and without any expectations, gives away prime seats at the Astros games when he can’t use them for his family.
A Father who is a friend … calls often, comes by often, and doesn’t mind if I don’t want to talk.
A Father who is a friend … has a son who recently married on May 31st.
A Father who is a friend … has a daughter who was married on May 31st.
A Father who is a friend … keeps me on the phone during the Thunder games.
A Father who is a friend … likes everything hot, from his food to south Texas.
A Father who is a friend … makes buying a car painless.
A Father who is a friend … faithfully stands by his wife and son during their most critical time of life.
A Father who is a friend … has honored his wife and family by being a Christian man of deep conviction and strength.
A Father who is a friend … chose to be a minister in a church, and gained the wealth of many friends who became family.
THE FATHER, who is a close friend … gave His only begotten Son so that I, and anyone who calls on His name, could have eternal life. Now, that’s a Father’s Day!
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NASB)
