So, here’s the deal . . . with my set of circumstances what was one of the worst (or most stupid) things I could possibly do, I did! I fell this week on my back porch (tripped on a garden hose). Unfortunately the fall took me directly to the concrete and impacted me right where the two previous surgeries had been on my head. Crazy, huh? The blood flowed as Bonita helped her pitiful partner to his feet outside in a light rain and cool temps.
Once I had gotten up and traveled to the emergency room at the hospital we began to assess the situation. I had lacerated my head pretty severely and injured my knee. This week was full of hospital night stays, MRIs, CT scans, and a myriad of other tests. One of those tests revealed that I had torn my miniscus in my right knee.
So, I’m home and planning a wonderful, casual Christmas with my precious family. So blessed! It appears my 88 year old dad will be able to be here for Christmas. Yahoo! “I did fall and I CAN get up!”
I’ll bet you’re asking yourself, “Okay Seelig, where’s the song we can now sing?” I’ve got it. First of all, falling is a good thing in some ways. It can give us a clearer view of the place we’ve come from. The song the angels sang, “Fall on your knees (I did that)!!! Oh hear the Angel voices. Oh night, Oh night divine.” And it was a divine night when our Savior was born.”
Thank you over and over again for your prayers! Can’t tell you enough what a blessing and encouragement they are to me. After seeing the doctor this morning I needed to go to the mall for supplies, and other things today. It was stinkin’ packed!!! But what an amazing Christmas serendipity it was to have wonderful friends and fellow followers stop to speak a word to me today. There is nothing like the fellowship we have with fellow Christians. Even had a visit from a local pastor who stopped me right in the middle of the mall. He prayed over me right there in front of all … oh wow! That was such a surge of Holy Spirit power!
Please continue to pray. We are not out of the woods yet. God is not through writing this chapter in my life … especially the falling on my knees part!
Well, I guess we are going to sing … here we go Facebook Family Worshippers:
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Saviour’s birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
‘Til He appear’d and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born;
O night divine, O night, O night Divine.
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
Led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here come the wise men from Orient land.
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friend.
He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, Before Him lowly bend!
Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever,
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
