My watch stopped working this week. Bummer! I am a stickler for being “on time.” And it reminded me how much we rely on time. So many times in recent months we’ve stated, “God’s timing is the best time.” “He holds our future and He knows how much time we have.” Solomon reminds us that there is an appointed time for everything (Ecc 3:1)
Without my watch I can’t begin to count the number of times I asked people near me what time it was, or how much time we had left before our next appointment. With the massive amount of meds I am taking, it is crucial that I take the right pills at exactly the right time. My life has begun to revolve around a strict schedule of timed events and appointments.
Bottom line: We always want to be on God’s time. His time is the right time, and it’s important to trust His time.
There’s a wonderful old hymn/song that brought me to this theme today. If you know it, sing it with me. If you don’t, Google it and listen on YouTube. Be blessed and trust God’s timing in every aspect of your life.
IN HIS TIME
In His time, in His time
He makes all things beautiful in His time.
Lord, please show me every day
As You’re teaching me Your way
That You do just what You say
In Your time.
In Your time, in Your time
You make all things beautiful in Your time.
Lord, my life to You I bring
May each song I have to sing
Be to You a lovely thing
In Your time.
