Recently, Bonita and I went to see the Alley’s annual production of A Christmas Carol, and the Christmas theme is about past, present, and future. One affects the other. Looking around the house during Christmastime, the different decorations spur memories for me of Christmases past. A dear friend gave me a sign last year that stated “It’s a Wonderful Time of the Year!” It hangs for all to see, and hangs to remind me of the blessings I have and have had during my life and during this season.
One of my most cherished decorations is one of a Nativity that TeamKid gave me during one of our most productive years. It is cherished because I know that these people truly knew and practiced Christmas all during the year too. The unselfish service they gave to the church was truly remarkable, and what GOD did with their talent was incomparable. What they gave to the City of Houston was a glimpse of the Savior … a package wrapped up with untiring commitment to share the Gospel with others. (Did I say untiring? Their bodies were tired, but their commitment never wavered.)
This picture of the kings was surely designed with TeamKid in mind. They gave their gifts, but they also told THE story. Repeatedly.
Merry Christmas to some of my favorite friends: TeamKid of Second Baptist Church. May your days be “merry and bright” causing HIS light to shine even brighter by the giving of your gifts in ministry.
I love you dearly….especially during this season!
Steve
