Glorious One, You are deserving of all our praise and attention. You sustain us in ways we don’t even know. Your love envelopes us and bathes us. Your Hand protects us from evil that we do not see, yet we know it’s out there. Thank You, God, that as we abide in You, You shelter us. We are protected from snares the enemy sets for us. You command Your angels to guard us and You deliver us. Hallelujah for these truths from Psalm 91!
Thank You, Father, we really can be victorious in our thought life because Your Spirit lives in us. Teach us to guard our hearts and minds from worldliness and choose to believe Your Word about who we are in Christ. We are loved, accepted, blessed, chosen, forgiven, called and redeemed. (Ephesians 1)
Let _____________’s thoughts be centered on these truths to combat the enemy’s lies. I pray You will rally him/her to fight since much of the battle occurs in our minds. When fear creeps in or doubts arise, I pray Your Spirit would stand up taller and settle things down. Let Your steadfast presence abide with ________________. Jesus, guard our hearts and minds like a body guard. Do not leave us to our frantic thinking, but guide our thoughts toward life and peace I pray. (Psalm 139:23, 24)
When tempted by discouragement, negativity or self-pity, remind him/her that You have allowed this season in life to accomplish things that otherwise would not happen. You delight in ________________’s faith and are determined to increase it to be stronger and stronger. With no challenges, it would not grow. Oddly, we become lazy in our faith if things are smooth and easy. Muscle only grows stronger when there’s resistance, and it seems to be so with faith as well. So, thank You, Father, for reasons to pray, reasons to search for Your Will and reasons to choose to trust You above all else.
Thank You, Lord, for the formula given in Philippians 4 for curing anxious thoughts. Purpose in ___________________ to practice as You taught the Apostle Paul:
- Rejoice in the Lord.
- Refuse anxiety!
- Pray with gratitude.
- The peace of God will literally guard the heart and mind.
- Meditate on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise.
- Imitate godly people.
- God’s peace is promised to us.
Jesus, help us to choose joy no matter what our circumstances. We want to walk in Your joy and peace, and it really is our choice. Let _______________ set his/her mind toward the determination of walking in joy, even in this difficult season. We bless You and thank You that it’s even possible. Through the power and strength provided by Your Holy Spirit, we have the victory over disappointments, even devastations. Miraculously, we can live with lightness of heart in spite of a very serious diagnosis or the death of someone near and dear to us. Anxiety must leave when we call on You. You pour Your beautiful peace over Your beloved like liquid gold. Please infuse peace to the core of _________________’s being. Inside and out, may peace trump over anxious thinking. May the peace of Christ rule in his/her heart as trust in You grows. And may gratitude and love be his/her lifestyle. (Colossians 3:15)
We love you, Father. We love You, Jesus. We love You, Holy Spirit. Three in One, such a mystery… Be glorified in us this day. Purpose Your will as we go about daily life, that our hearts would give You both private and public praise due Your great Name. In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen and amen
