Lord of all time, Lord over all that is, we worship and acknowledge You as Eternal God, the God who is, was and is to come. You have no beginning and no end. You do not age. You have no need of anything to exist; You simply are. And You are timeless. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures through all generations. (Psalm 145:13).
Thank You Father for Your steadfast love and care for us. You created each one of us in Your image with a spirit and thirst to know You. You didn’t need us so much as want us. You are all about relationship! Praise be to God, we can commune with You and we find our true selves in You through Jesus, our Lord.
Thank You for that precious baby in the manger, Your one and only Son – our redeemer, our Jesus. We acknowledge You, Jesus, as the humble servant but also the glorious, victorious King over all. Thank You that You did not stay a baby, but grew into the perfect man who is Savior of all mankind. The unsaved world does not understand You, Lord, but we declare You are our everything. Please pour hope and joy into the hearts of Your people that we would share You with a hurting world. You love people! You are patient, Lord, and desire all to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9). In fact, Your patience means salvation (2 Peter 3:15).
Father God, I pray Your Spirit will prompt us this Christmas season to speak kind words of sincerity and truth. Help us truly connect with the people around us so that every conversation would count. Let us intentionally affirm others and especially encourage youth. Give us humility to apologize when needed. Anoint us, Lord, with Your Spirit, that words would flow naturally. May we be good listeners too. There is much wisdom to share and there is always something new to learn as well. Open our hearts to do both I pray. Slow things down that we’d enjoy the process and walk in Your love. Let there be laughter and memories made as well as memories shared from the past.
May we recount Your goodness to our families, especially in _______________’s difficult season. I pray others would be drawn to trust You because of his/her enthusiasm to live life well and to Your glory. There is so much to be thankful for. You are good! Let Your Word burn in _____________’s heart like fire; may he/she be unable to contain it, but lovingly share You as life unfolds. (Jeremiah 20:9) Prepare _______________ to gently give an answer for the hope he/she has. (1 Peter 3:15) You are faithful and will do it.
For those who are hurting, Father, please comfort them in their time of fear or grief or pain. You know the unspoken hurts of all people and have great compassion to comfort. Send Your ministering angels to tend to each one who is having a difficult time this Christmas. There are so many hurting hearts. Please touch them and make them whole again. May Your healing Hand restore them.
Lord, help ______________ to see beyond the natural. I pray for an even deeper life with You to develop. Keep his/her eyes on You with a true eternal perspective. Thank You for every single day we have on this planet! Though some seem mundane, they are not. Every day has little miracles; please open our eyes to see You. Life is hard at times, unfair at times. We cling to You, we worship and adore You as the newborn King, the Hope of the world. Bless You, dear Jesus! We look to You and give You all praise, all adoration and thanksgiving. You are worthy of all our focus. It’s all about You, Lord. Be glorified in us I pray. We receive Your love. We receive Your Son. Let us keep in step with Your beautiful Spirit.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen and amen.
