Father God, thank You for Your constant presence. You promise to never leave or forsake us. (Deut 31:6) And I believe You cannot even if You wanted to, which You don’t …
As believers in Your Son, Jesus, our spirits are blended irrevocably with Your Spirit. Thank You Lord! We are forever Yours; nothing can separate us from Your love … not death nor life, angels or demons, now or the future, not any power, height, depth or anything anywhere! (Romans 8:38) At times when ___________ feels alone, I pray You will speak words of life and encouragement into his/her spirit. Speak through nature. May Your glory be seen in the simple beauty of flowers and in the carefree smiles of children, because You are there.
Use pastors, teachers, books and CDs to speak to him/her. I also pray Your Word would cut straight in and speak life into the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
I pray a burst of strength and victory over any despair that is lurking in the subconscious mind. Despair must leave in the strong Name of Jesus! Hope is of You, not despair, so pour HOPE into the heart of our friend. Hope is not denial of reality; it is trusting in You. Psalm 62 says our hope is in You but also that it comes from You. May sleep be sweet according to Psalm 4:8 – “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone O God make me dwell in safety.” No nightmares! No night terrors! Nothing fearful or dreadful, simply trusting You.
Lord, we trust You are able to restore health and I ask You Father to please do just that. Bring forth good energy and vitality and may all organs function well. May cells divide and remain intact; no wayward cells in Jesus’ Name I pray. Please continue to block the course of this cancer as You obviously have been doing. Thank You for allowing _____________ more time than the doctors anticipated! Thank You for keeping his mind sharp and his creative thoughts active. I pray a good appetite and digestion return to nourish the body well.
Father, for one who has had a full life with much activity, it’s so hard to sit quietly and reserve energy. I pray You will affirm Your servant that he/she would know You are pleased with their faith more than any activity or production or accomplishment they could do for You. You delight in their love and trust far more than anything else. As any parent or grandparent knows, holding a dearly loved child is a deep joy to the heart. You must feel that way holding Your child who is not well enough to do things like they used to. Sometimes the best thing is to simply rest against You and allow You to sing over us. “The LORD your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17) Let the angels sing! Let the LORD Himself sing songs over _____________ and though our ears cannot hear them, may his/her spirit soar with hope because of them.
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
Thanks you Steve,
What a beautiful prayer. We pray the same for you. I am sharing this on the facebook page for my cancer and encourage others who have the same to share it as well.
Blessing to a man who has often touched my heart and mind,
Harry
