I cannot even count the times at this point that I have had blood drawn to be tested. They act as it is no big thing, but I am a hard stick and sometimes my veins roll around and they have to try several times to get the sample they need to see how I am progressing.
Normally, if we have time, we try to have the blood drawn at the Katy MD Anderson site because there is a sweet lady that administers the process and she is a believer. I am delighted to see her smiling face, and because our relationship to the Lord, she is oh so tender and sweet. She understands the phrase “There is Power in the Blood.”
My sacrifice of my blood is for my own purpose, the testing to see how my own health is progressing, or more clearly if the cancer is causing any more problems with this old body of mine. But the sacrifice that Our Lord gave of His blood was for others, was for me and for you. He gave His life so that our sins would be forgiven and so that we can live eternally. I can’t even imagine that kind of sacrifice. Dying so that others will live. What a sacrifice. What a Savior!
I can no longer look at life the same. I can no longer look at life without wanting to share the life saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I can only hope that when people know me that they will be bitten with the understanding of the power in His blood.
What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole. Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God. (1 Peter 1:3-5, 18-21 MSG)
