YOU’LL GET THROUGH THIS
I’ve started reading the book and watching the small group study video series by Max Lucado by the above title. It seems to be just what the doctor ordered, Dr. God that is. It has pierced my heart and met me head on.
There is not ANYTHING each of us will encounter that will not be tough to confront. Max deals in this study with the life of Joseph. It’s good stuff!
The line that he repeats over and over continues to strike a chord in me and I repeat it often during the day:
“I’ll get through this.
It won’t be painless.
It won’t be quick.
But God will use this
mess for good.
In the meantime,
don’t be foolish or naive
But don’t despair either.
With God’s help,
I will get through this.”
It’s been said of Max Lucado that he “is a preacher with a storyteller’s gift—a pastor’s heart and a poet’s pen.” Max’s sermons begin at home with the congregation at Oak Hills Church, which he has led for more than two decades. Max Lucado’s first book, On the Anvil, was published in 1985. 2013 brings the release of Max’s 30th trade book, You’ll Get Through This (September), which beautifully illustrates Lucado’s ongoing mission to encourage the brokenhearted and to remind all readers of the healing love of God.
