Interesting word above, huh? This word is all about perspective … how we view trials that come into our lives. I had forgotten about this arrangement of letters and was reminded recently in this horrific journey, of learning I have a Glioblastoma (malignant brain tumor), that all too often I have possibly questioned God’s presence–that God is no where. Abandoned.
But, in the midst of this storm, God has reminded me of His constant presence and that He is with me now–God is now here. He will never leave my side, and He will provide the healing power to overcome. The journey has caused me to question God’s interest or presence in my pain and confusion; but, thank the Lord, I have moved to the place of reality that God is with me here … all the time, right by my side. At my darkest nights, when there are no obvious answers to “Why?” I continue to covet your prayers for the coming weeks of daily radiation, daily chemo, plus good counsel to resolve chronic nerve pain issues resulting in the past six surgeries that complicate the issues at hand. My body has experienced God’s healing before (Victory Over Sepsis), and there is no reason not to believe He will not do it again in His timing during this current journey.
I am humbled and overwhelmed by the countless people who have reached out to us and are praying for us (many of whom have shared their own stories in my blog section And Now a Word from My Friends). We are so blessed by hundreds of friends and prayer warriors around the world. Plus we hold tightly to the many, many experiences we have shared with so many in our life so far.
Devotedly,
Papa Steve
As a result of this post a year ago, our dear friend Terry Lang Jones (formerly of Point of Grace and Say So) wrote a song, “Now Here.” You can listen by clicking on the below prompt.
NOTE: Terry has written and recorded a brand new project that I KNOW you will enjoy. It was produced by Nathan Nockels. The other voice in this song is none other than Heather Payne. I will be posting more about how to get it in the coming weeks. Be blessed. He is “Now Here!” Thank you, precious Terry. We love you!
