FACEBOOK FAMILY WORSHIPPERS!
If you have ever met a believer from Oklahoma, who grew up in church (or Falls Creek Camp), then you can rest assured they know and were weaned on the great old Bartlett song, “Victory in Jesus.” It’s a standard Oklahoma song of worship. And there are lots of great ‘stories’ that go along with this song where the Spirit of God released His Power. Amen!!
The ultimate VICTORY is in the hands of our faithful and true God. He is the ultimate healer, provider, friend, guide, and victor (He Lives!).
When you have cancer, victory is rather elusive. Though my body has been in chronic pain, weariness from chemotherapy, and general confusion and frustration, I can truly say with all my heart … GOD IS MY VICTORY … and there is genuine Victory in Jesus!
My great desire during this season is that we not miss the real Jesus of Christmas. It’s important that we celebrate together this Christmas THE Jesus: Jesus the counselor; Jesus the comforter; Jesus the healer; Jesus the great and mighty king of Kings. He is interested in each of us experiencing victory, real victory through a relationship with Him.
So, sing this one with me today. It’s not a “standard Christmas song,” but I can assure you from my heart (and many Oklahomans) that He is the Savior who came to give you and me VICTORY.
Start Singing Now . . . . . . .
I heard an old, old story
How a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save someone like me
I heard about His groaning,
Of His precious blood’s atoning
Then I repented of my sin
And won the victory
Oh, victory in Jesus, my Savior forever
He sought me and He bought me
With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood
I heard about His healing,
Of His cleansing pow’r revealing
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see
And then I cried “dear Jesus,
Come and heal My broken spirit”
And somehow Jesus Came and brought
To me the victory
Oh, victory in Jesus, my Savior forever
He sought me and He bought me
With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood
