Jesus, our Jesus, we love You, Lord, and lift our hearts to You today. Fully God, fully man, Jesus You are the One and Only. You experienced life contained in a human body, were tempted in every single way and yet did not succumb to it. We worship and adore You. Thank You for Your perfect life that You freely laid down to give us new life here and now and eternal life when we step into eternity. You are faithful. You are trustworthy with our questions and heartaches. You know every insecurity and anxious thought we entertain. You are kind and tender with our weaknesses. Thank You for Your gentleness. We are so grateful to be Yours.I pray today for those suffering with shaken confidence as a result of long term illness and its effects. I specifically pray for ________________ to trust his/her ability to hear Your Voice according to John 10:4. May he/she hear You speak how much You love them. Doubting we are loved is the real confidence-shaker, so I pray for solid faith to prevail as Your banner over _________________ is love! (Song of Songs 2:4) Place a deep desire to get into Your Word in _______________’s heart. May he/she hunger to know You more and find full satisfaction to his/her soul.May _________________ confide in You with open speech, which is what that word really means. Open to tell big concerns as well as the trivial. You can handle the good, the bad and the ugly. You invite us to simply talk with You. This is all made possible because our guilt is removed by the Blood of Jesus; we have open communication with the Most High God (Hebrews 10:19). How awesome! Thank You, God, for Your availability. You are never too busy; You are fully aware and welcome our conversation. And thank You that our physical bodies do not define us either in health or in disease. Our identity is in Christ Jesus. Help us all to get it that our true confidence lies in this amazing statement. I pray we all would define ourselves as spiritual beings in physical bodies, temporary “tents” as Paul said (2 Corinthians 5:1). In times of illness, these frail bodies are not always reliable, so I pray _______________’s dignity be protected, especially in public places. Thank You, God, that You value our dignity. Jesus, You were all about dignifying people when You walked this earth and You still do it. Please place caring nurses and family members to tend to the chronically ill. God bless them in return for their assistance. It is truly a special gifting they’ve received to do this so help us to be truly grateful for them.Father, please activate Your Holy Spirit in ______________’s heart and mind to truly believe You. Stretch our faith, Lord, to fully trust You with our everything. Then and only then can we be fully confident and free from fear and/or doubt. As independence shrinks, may our dependence on You be sincere and obvious to those who are watching. May they be encouraged by the chronically ill person who fully trusts in the Lord. Hallelujah, be glorified God, in ______________’s life because he/she is living proof that You sustain the weary; it cannot be faked. Thank You for ministering angels. Thank You for hope based on truth. You are good, even in hard times. You are good.May our confidence ultimately be in You, Lord, not in our determination, our doctors, government, insurance, treatments or even in the odds of recovery. You are sovereign and You determine our steps and our heart beats. Purpose a deep trust and confidence in You alone, O God. Keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith ((Hebrews 12:2). Forgive us for being consumed with ourselves. We want to be faithful, faith-filled people. Let us walk in Your Spirit and keep in step with Him (Galatians 5:25).In Christ alone, and in His precious name,Amen.
