Commonly a miracle is described as an event not ascribable to human power or the laws of nature and consequently attributed to a supernatural, especially divine, agency.
Webster’s dictionary gets right to the heart of the matter and states that a miracle is an unusual or wonderful event that is believed to be caused by the power of God.
Steve Seelig describes a miracle as simply an answer to prayer. The Body of Believers who pray can indeed see true miracles before their eyes in this day and time. I am a living, breathing, walking, modern day miracle. I shouldn’t be here today. I don’t know how, why or for how long, but GOD has chosen to give me daily life, and I receive it with a grateful heart.
I have often in my ministry used the scripture example/story in Mark 2 of the men who took their sick friend to be healed by Jesus. They not only believed that Jesus could heal, but they physically appeared at the house where Jesus was teaching. They climbed the stairs, tore open the roof, and lowered their friend down into the house to Jesus. They knew, without a doubt, that if their friend could just be in HIS presence, if they made the effort to lay him at Jesus’ feet, their sick friend could be healed.
I feel that I have been the recipient of that same kind of tender concern by my friends and those who have just been asked to pray. For me, the Body of Christ by fervently praying has tenderly laid my body at the feet of Jesus. I have been so touched by those that have prayed for my healing. I am a miracle. This miracle called “life” is a special gift, and each moment of every day is indeed God’s grace given to me.
“I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!” (Mark 2:11, 12 NIV)
So please, from now on, when you see my picture or hear my name, stop and give thanks for the healing that has taken over my cancer-infected body. I’m a miracle. Thank you Lord!
“It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!” Romans 8:11 (The Message)
Jana Drake-Tornga has been my assistant, friend, co-minister, teacher, and dear, dear friend. I owe so much to Jana. Everything you see on this blog is the handiwork of this precious saint. She loves Jesus with everything she has. Plus, she plays and sings like an angel. Below is a recording of Jana singing a song that for now is “my song.” Be blessed!
