Forty-two years ago today I stood at the altar of the Stubblefield Chapel on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to pledge my love and commitment to Bonita Gail Westmoreland. I was clueless. Most young grooms are at this point. I had no idea what was in store for me (and her) in those following years.
Who knew?
Who knew our life experiences in marriage would take us to amazing places meeting amazing people?
Who knew the Lord would gift us with two incredible children who would bring joy and honor to their parents?
Who knew we would serve together in ministry all over the world and observe holy moments together?
Who knew we would meet wonderful, dear friends with whom we would share so many joys and experiences?
Who knew?
God knew . . . He knew He had prepared a young woman to honor Him in every possible way. She truly was His child.
Who knew we would be given the greatest challenge anyone could be given? For forty-two years Bonita has been compassionate, consistent, and committed to giving God the glory on every turn. Her unconditional love and godly spirit is her greatest attribute. I see Jesus in her EVERY DAY!!
Who knew we would end up here at this place in this journey? God is so good! He is our strength for all these years. More to come …
I love you, Bonita, and I thank God for you every day. Who knew?
