Please let me share my heart with you today. Your support and prayers have been a huge treasure in these past weeks and months. I know it’s confusing when you see pics of us in wonderful places, and we are so grateful for the blessing of making lifetime memories with our family and friends. We are getting to do some things we have always dreamed of doing … bucket list kind of stuff.
Behind the smiles and fairytale fun outings there has been pain, sickness, fear, and confusion. We came to our favorite city, San Diego (actually Coronado Island), with the consent and encouragement of our Houston MDA doctors and are grateful to the Lord for leading us to a fine hospital, doctors that understand and are able to assess our situation and provide supervision, etc.
I am very aware that my cancer is still a big threat. We are not out of the woods at all. The cancer and chemo continue to be a very large roadblock to health and healing. Please, please do not stop praying. Your prayers are the main element for healing.
Bonita writes: We hit a bump during our stay here in San Diego last week. To Steve it is a mountain, and I know he is very tired of these mountains that he has had to climb. With cancer there are always side trips that you have to take that can be very frightening.
Steve spent three days in a hospital in La Jolla. His arm became red and started swelling. Our fear is always about blood clots and infection because of past experiences. Both were a concern in this situation. Once the hospital started treating him with antibiotics, his overall feeling improved. There were no blood clots found. The cultures showed no infection, but they are continuing the antibiotics should the bruised area form any infection. The doctor thinks there might be a collection of blood from a very large bruise up and down his arm.
Elevation, measuring, and medications will be required to be sure that the swelling improves and goes down. We can never anticipate what the cancer or chemo can reap. It’s tough when you are shooting in the dark trying to find doctors, hospitals, meds … anyone who can assess our situation and provide help. But we did stumble upon adequate care it seems for now.
At the conclusion of our 3-day hospital visit, our new doctor said we should stay in the area close to them for now.
Thanks for your continual prayers, even when you don’t know specifically the need.
Your prayers, concerns, and personal attention mean the world to us.
Much love….Steve and Bonita

Now let’s sing this great Matt Redman song together today:
Chorus
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name
The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes
Chorus
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name
You’re rich in love, and You’re slow to anger
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find
Chorus
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name
And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore
Chorus [x2]
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name
Jesus, I’ll worship Your holy name
Lord, I’ll worship Your holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name
Jesus, I’ll worship Your holy name
I’ll worship Your holy name
