I remember quite well my feelings a few short days after the birth of my first grandson, Will, 13 years ago. You see, I began dreaming about a family trip with him when he got older. We love all things “Disney.” In fact, Stephanie worked one summer during college at Disney World for their business internship. We had memorable trips to Disneyland and Disney World with our kids, my niece and nephew, the Courtney kids, and many other memories and stories to last forever. And then my daughter won a week-long trip to Disney World with her company, Team Beachbody. AMAZING!
So, today we flew to Orlando for a week of memories with Bonita, Steph, the boys and me … the dream is becoming true. We have been looking forward to this trip with Steph and the boys for a very long time.
At this stage in my life it’s important to be a part of family memory making experiences. Hopefully, these will be the kind of experiences that those two wonderful grandsons will never forget with their Papa.
So, here we are at Disney World. We would have NEVER EVER thought my body would allow me this privilege, much less afford this kind of endeavor. My doctor strongly encouraged me to go. God is good!!! We have rented an electric wheelchair to help me maneuver the parks. I understand that the chair will help greatly and serve me well in getting in lines to shows, rides, and parks. Yahoo!! Hope it helps.
Thanks to a gracious Heavenly Father and your diligent prayers, we are seeing a miracle unfold right in front of us. And to think I am doing well with a negative prognosis with terminal brain cancer. That I can form words and type this is a huge miracle in itself. Thank you, Lord!!
Please, please pray that my body will turn stronger to withstand the negative results of chemo, meds, back and leg pain.
