A MUST FOR ALL MY FACEBOOK FAMILY: PLEASE READ THIS WONDERFUL STORY AND BE BLESSED
Back Story:
Leon & Mollie Calley were faithful members at Houton’s First Baptist Church. I had the privilege of serving alongside both of them in several situations. They were an incredibly wonderful family. A few months ago Leon passed away with cancer. Soon after that Mollie got the same cancer.
I recently received this report from Carol Pierce:
Mollie Calley went to be with the Lord last Tuesday evening. While she was still in the hospital last Saturday I went to visit her. As we were talking about many different things, she asked me how Steve (Seelig) was doing. She had been following his journey with brain cancer for the last few weeks. I told her he was in the process of taking chemo and radiation. Then I started telling her about how Steve was posting songs (praise songs, hymns and others) each day on Facebook and how much I was enjoying “singing along” with him. She nodded her head and said, “yes, I have been following him on Facebook too. I have been singing along with him every day.” I suggested that her family might want to bring her notebook computer to the hospital so she could continue to follow Steve’s posts. When I was back Sunday evening she had already asked her daughter to bring her notebook to the hospital and they brought it in while I was there. I know she got onto Facebook and “sang along with Steve” because she sent a note about it. She only lived two more days but the ministry of Steve’s song posts meant so much to her even until the last 2 days before she went to heaven. I’ll bet she is singing some of those songs right now, the only difference is that now she is seeing the face of the Savior as she sings. Thank you so much Steve for continuing to minister to so many even when you are fighting your own battle with cancer. You make me sing too.
So here’s one we can all sing together today:
Sing the wondrous love of Jesus
Sing His mercy and His grace
In the mansion’s bright and blessed
He’ll prepare for us a place
When we all get to Heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We’ll sing and shout the victory
While we walk the pilgrim pathway
Clouds will over spread the sky
But when travelin’ days are over
Not a shadow, not a sign
When we all get to Heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We’ll sing and shout the victory
Onward to the prize before us
Soon His beauty we’ll behold
Soon the Pearly Gates will open
We shall tread the streets of gold
When we all get to Heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We’ll sing and shout the victory
When we all see Jesus
We’ll sing and shout the victory
